Intro: The xx Violin Jam

You probably already know The xx, but if you don’t, get on it now! I’ve heard the London trio’s music described as pop experimental (seems a bit of an oxymoron), but to me they are masters of sonic soundscapes. Their music best suits me on a mysterious, foggy day with subtly lush electro texture and an organic bass flow.

How could I resist breaking out my sultry strings?

This little jam was one of my first experiments using a loop pedal (Boss RC-1). To get my bearings with the pedal and my pickup, I decided to simply sync the pedal with The xx’s “Intro” and jam along.
